Every month a company comes to us whose “website has disappeared”: the domain was registered to a former employee or a web studio, it expired, and nobody got the reminder. Here’s how to avoid that.
What you need to register
For .uz you need the owner’s details: the organization’s particulars (name, TIN, address, contact person) or an individual’s passport, plus a contact email and phone number. Checking the name takes a minute; registration is usually done within a day.
Whose name to register it in
Only the company or its director. A domain registered to a web studio, a freelancer or “Shukhrat from IT” isn’t yours: after a dispute, a resignation or the studio closing down, getting it back will be hard. If a contractor builds your website, give them access to DNS management, but remain the owner yourself.
Three mistakes that cost companies their domains
- Missed renewal. Reminders go to a mailbox nobody reads. Once the term expires, the domain is released — and anyone can grab it, including a competitor.
- The owner isn’t the company. The employee left, the studio closed, access to the registrar’s client panel is lost.
- No transfer protection. Without a transfer lock and two-factor protection on the account, the domain can be moved to another registrar without your knowledge.
How we handle it
- We register the domain to your company, not to ourselves; you get management access.
- We send renewal reminders 30 and 7 days in advance via Telegram and email; auto-renewal from your MyCloud balance is on by default — unless you turn it off, we renew the domain ourselves when the balance is sufficient.
- We enable the transfer lock; we host DNS on our servers for free.
- The domain and certificate appear as separate lines on the invoice, with closing documents for your accounting.
What about SSL?
On MyCloud servers, a Let’s Encrypt certificate is issued and renewed automatically and free of charge. A paid certificate is needed if you require a Wildcard for all subdomains, organization validation (OV), or if a partner bank requires it.
How much it costs
A .uz domain costs from 90 000 UZS per year, international zones from 180 000 UZS; transfer from another registrar and DNS hosting are free. A domain together with the “Website” VPS (7 000 UZS per day) comes to about 220 000 UZS per month for everything.
