A CRM is your customer database, deal history and calls. If it’s slow, managers stop filling it in; if it’s lost, the business is set back a year. Here’s where and on what to run it.
Three types of CRM and what they need
- Cloud (amoCRM, Bitrix24 Cloud, Zoho). No server needed — but the data is abroad, which conflicts with the personal data law, and the price grows with every user. A compromise: a cloud CRM plus integration with a local 1C and local document storage.
- On-premise (Bitrix24, SuiteCRM, EspoCRM, vTiger). Your own VPS, a license or open source, data in Uzbekistan. Requirements are those of a web application with a database.
- Custom-built (Laravel, Django, .NET). Resource needs depend on the code; a typical problem is a database without indexes that “dies” at 50 000 customers.
How many resources
| Managers | Configuration | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| up to 5 | 2 vCPU / 4 GB / 60 GB NVMe | EspoCRM, SuiteCRM — with headroom |
| 5–20 | 4 vCPU / 8 GB / 120 GB | Bitrix24, telephony, call recordings |
| 20–100 | 8 vCPU / 16 GB / 250 GB | separate Redis, daily backups |
| 100+ | dedicated DB server + web VPS | replication, query monitoring |
What matters more than the CPU
- NVMe disk — a CRM writes constantly: every manager action is a log entry.
- Database backups every 6 hours with 30-day retention — losing a day of your sales team’s work is expensive.
- HTTPS and two-factor authentication — without them, the customer database walks out the door with a departing manager.
- Telephony nearby — the PBX on the same VPS or in the same network, so calls are recorded without delays.
Migrating without losing data
From a cloud CRM, export everything via the API, not “export to Excel” — otherwise you’ll lose history, files and links between entities. From an on-premise system: a database dump and the files folder, then testing on a copy on the new server, and only then the switchover. We’ll help with the move: we advise and walk you through the steps. Don’t switch off the old server until you’re sure everything works on the new one.
Ready-made images
MyCloud VPS offers Bitrix24, EspoCRM and SuiteCRM images with a configured environment, HTTPS and backups — your CRM is up and running 15 minutes after the server is created.
