Installing WordPress manually takes an hour if everything goes well, and an evening if it doesn’t. A ready-made image does the same in 15 minutes with no config mistakes. Let’s look inside.
What’s already installed in the image
- Ubuntu LTS with security updates and automatic patches.
- nginx, PHP 8 with the required modules and opcode cache, MySQL/MariaDB with a separate database and user.
- The latest WordPress, file permissions configured, automatic minor version updates enabled.
- Let’s Encrypt: the certificate is issued automatically once the domain is connected and renews itself.
- Firewall, brute-force protection (fail2ban), key-only SSH, a separate user for the website.
What you do
- Create a VPS with the WordPress image — 2 vCPU / 2 GB / 40 GB is enough for a company website or a small online store.
- Open the server address, enter the admin password from the panel — the website is up.
- Point your domain to the server IP (or we do it on our DNS). A few minutes later the certificate is issued and the website opens over https.
- Install a theme and plugins, move your content.
Why it’s better than shared hosting
Dedicated resources: neighbors don’t slow your website down at peak hours. Any plugins and PHP versions. Root access for your developer. Cron, queues, Redis — everything shared hosting forbids. The price is 7 000 UZS per day, about 210 000 per month, comparable to hosting “business plans”.
What’s worth adding to the image
- Backups. A server snapshot before updates is available in the panel; regular backups to the data center are a service at 300 UZS per GB of stored copies per day.
- Monitoring. A Telegram alert if the website stops responding or the certificate is about to expire — 1 000 UZS per day.
- Caching. For high-traffic websites we install Redis and configure page caching as part of administration.
Moving from your current hosting
When you move to MyCloud, we advise and help: we’ll explain how to transfer the files and database, test the site and switch the domain with no downtime. 1 day free — the server’s launch day isn’t billed (the first charge is at the next 00:00).
