Every VPS and colocation plan includes “up to 100 Mbps.” For a website and 1C, that’s more than enough. But there are workloads where the words “up to” become a problem.
What “up to 100 Mbps” means
The included channel is a shared resource of the facility: it’s split among all servers, so at quiet times you get full speed, and at peak load — less. For most workloads you won’t notice: a website, 1C, email or a bot use just a few megabits.
What guaranteed bandwidth is
It’s a channel reserved for you alone: 50 Mbps means 50 Mbps at any given second, regardless of your neighbors. It’s billed per megabit, separately for internet and for TASIX/UZIX.
When you need it
- Video surveillance. 20 Full HD cameras continuously send 40–60 Mbps. If bandwidth “dips,” gaps appear in the archive.
- Exchanging large files with branch offices. A nightly 200 GB sync has to finish by morning, not “whenever it can.”
- Customer-facing services with speed commitments. Online cash registers, partner APIs, streaming.
- Replication and backups between sites. The backup window is limited and the volume is known — you need predictable speed.
How to calculate it
Take the data volume for the time window and convert it to megabits. Example: 200 GB over 8 hours at night = 200 × 8 192 Mbit / 28 800 s ≈ 57 Mbps. Round up and add 20 % headroom — 70 Mbps. For video: number of cameras × bitrate (typically 2–4 Mbps per Full HD camera).
Internet or TASIX/UZIX
TASIX and UZIX are Uzbekistan’s traffic exchange points: through them, your server talks to local ISPs directly. If your traffic recipients are inside the country (branch offices, on-site cameras, customers in Uzbekistan), TASIX/UZIX bandwidth is enough — 300 UZS per Mbps per day. An international channel — 2 000 UZS per Mbps per day — is only needed for traffic abroad.
| Use case | Bandwidth | Destination | Per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 Full HD cameras → archive in MCVMS | 60 Mbps | TASIX/UZIX | 540 000 UZS |
| Nightly 200 GB sync with a branch office | 70 Mbps | TASIX/UZIX | 630 000 UZS |
| API for international partners | 20 Mbps | Internet | 1 200 000 UZS |
How to connect
Bandwidth is added to a VPS or a rack server within one business day and billed daily: need more for a week — scale up, then scale back. You can price it together with a server in the VPS and colocation calculators.
